All clients must have a valid passport and China visa to participate our buying trip program. A single or double entries visa is usually valid for entry within 3 month from the date of issue and will permit you to stay in China for a maximum of 30 days. Single or double entry visa requires a passport valid for at least 6 months and a blank visa page at least. Applicants should come in person or through a third party (e.g. travel agencies) to apply for the Chinese visa from Chinese Embassy / Chinese Consulates. Please allow 5 to 12 days for visa application approvals.

Finally, you should be aware that China accepts most major world currencies and credit cards. This means that at any given time every bank has millions of dollars in currency from each of 30 different countries. Therefore, the banks are very particular about not accepting bills that are dirty, torn, worn or tattered. Basically they will only accept new bills so please be mindful to bring along clean new series bills for your trip.

Generally, as of January 1, 2005, all furniture made in China including wood, upholstered and leather furniture with the exception of bedroom furniture will be duty (tax) free for U.S market. This is due to China's acceptance into the World Trade Organization (WTO). On bedroom furniture the duty rate for U.S market,please consult your local forwarding agent.

The shipping rate are fluctuate from time to time. Different countries and container sizes will have different shipping rates.

If you buy just a few items, they will be put in wooden crates and the shipping price depends on the size and the weight of the crates. For example, if the crates take up 1/4 of a container, you will be charged slightly more than 1/4 of the container price. Secondly, you will need to hire a customs broker to "clear" the shipment prior to delivery to your location. They check all the documents that we prepared for you to verify that they comply with governmental regulations. Further, they calculate and collect taxes called "duty". They generally are listed in the Yellow Pages.

Finally, your customs broker will arrange for a truck driver to pick up your container from the port or rail yard and bring it to your location for unloading. This fee varies subject to mileage.

The typical retail furniture store importing its furniture directly from China marks-up their furniture approximately 300% - 350% and accessories up to 500%-1000%. Direct wholesalers typically double their "landed" cost, but sell three times the volume of a retail store. You should use these same guidelines. Additionally, if you come across an exceptionally fine or really unusual piece, you should price more profit into that piece.

The economies of scale in furniture manufacturing favour additional price brakes for larger quantity orders. Therefore, clients who participate in this program as a buying group with industry friends or competitors will be able to take advantage of slightly more favourable pricing dynamics. Clients should not be concerned about having a industry friend or an associate as a competitor.

Generally, this is a rare occurrence as there are many redundant inspections performed by the factory, and finally by our staff. However, if something is damaged, a chip or scratch in a bedroom dresser for example, this type of damage is generally considered minor and can be flawlessly touched-up by a professional for just a few dollars. Most furniture importers have a relationship with one or two such free-lance professionals and set aside damaged pieces until several are collected before engagement.

We do our best to respond to all email that we receive in a timely fashion. We appreciate it when those that we do business with respond prompty, and know that you do, too. We try to treat you the way that we like to be treated. We have full time staff working on email (holidays excluded). You will receive a response within 48 hrs during normal business hours. Messages sent after 4 pm Friday through Sunday, will be answered before the end of the business day on Monday (holidays excluded).

If you have not received a reply from us in a timely manner as stated above, there are several possibilities why:

• We did not receive your email.
  If you sent us an email using your own email system, check your SENT folder for the email and verify that you sent it to a valid goo goo china.com email address.

   

• Our reply has been returned (or "bounced") as undeliverable. This can happen for several reasons:
  1. Your return address is entered incorrectly.
  2. Your email box is "full" and your ISP rejected the message (this is most common with Web services such as Hotmail and free services such as Juno).
  3. Your ISP blocked our reply as suspected SPAM. This is becoming a growing problem, and is discussed more fully below.

   

• A SPAM filter that you have installed moved or deleted our reply before you saw it. Please check your junk mail folder. If you have installed a SPAM filter, then check the settings and its folders to verify that it hasn't prevented you from seeing the reply. If it moves the email to a different folder, scan through that folder looking for our reply.
